After living in a YWAM base as a family and working in Mercy Ministry since 2001, God called us to begin working in our own family, giving Him permission to do some open hearth surgery. He certainly went right to work, and has continued until this day. Our daughters greatly benefitted and we still see the importance of “Family” we we serve God.
This process started to open our eyes to the huge need of families in Ministry, working in the Mission field or Churches or in any area.
God provided very important keys through FFI, Family Foundations International. This ministry was part of a YWAM course we took, the LDC in Scotland in 2004.
The YWAM local leaders in Bogota were part of the first FFI seminar we had in Colombia. Our call got stronger and stronger as we saw God doing miracles in peoples lives, marriages and families.
In 2010, we started teaching about family in the DTSs in Cartagena, Pereira, Bogota and at the PCYM in Bucaramanga.
In 2011, God gave us a great tool as we developed a seminar for Parents and Children, which hat a tremendous impact as Parents came together with their Children to experience deep healing in the ” Family Circle”. The strategy was to practically show and model how to ask forgiveness and bless children, allowing parents to do the same right away.
In 2012, we went to South Africa to get trained on how to train and multiply leaders for Family Ministry with the Africa Leaders for FFI
In 2013, we met the Fresz Family who encouraged us to take the FMS and also did a Parent and Children retreat with Kings Kids families in YWAM Cartagena.
In 2015, we went to New Zealand to take the Family Ministry School with Ross and Sheryl Watkins. Our Vision is to bring the FMS to Colombia in Spanish and later spread it to the Latin Countries in YWAM. The end of last year, God provided a piece of land to build a “Family Center”. This was a confirmation for a vision God had giving us since 2011 to build a place for the restoration of Families in Colombia. License plans have been drafted and we are in the process of getting the construction permit.
Our great privilege has been to do the Ministry together with our daughters, Margarita, Salome and Katia.
At the time we write these lines we are teaching a week at the FMS in Curitiba, Brazil, on the power of blessing.
We are so grateful to God for giving us the opportunity to be part of an army that fights for Families that find God’s healing and serve Him in all 7 spheres of Society.
